The Time is Ripe for LoveDance
by Holly Adams-Matthews
Imagine if you will words flowing through you transporting you into a mythological story that brings forward deep awakenings to your own vast realm of possibilities and your own next steps in personal enlightenment.
Deborah's LoveDance has the elements of guiding myth - a story that engages the personal psyche to connect to the great timeless human collective of thought and experience. As fairy tales' queens, kings, princesses and princes portray the symbology of the transpersonal aspects of our human consciousness, Deborah's word pictures stimulate the potent qualities within the individual reader according to their unique soul path.
This was true for me after reading of Mary Magdalen's experience healing childhood wounds, my own healing cycle was renewed and deepened, another layer loosened. It was an intense release of emotional pain that brought me into its physical experience, intellectual awareness of the depth of the wounding, and the grace of its release into awareness and the grace of my growing capacity to embrace my human history, integrate it as strength for the next indicated step in my unique LoveDance.
I want to read a story that heals me, brings me closer to fulfilling my potentials and purpose on this planet-that's the divine calling me forward, that's the light. I want to read something that takes me far away from my own day to day reality-that's the human wish to just switch the channel on my life for a bit, take a break from my own challenges and imagine other scenes and situations, that's the dark. I want a fun read. What sells? We all know. That's the dark. Why?
Because of our deepest yearnings to experience in our human forms the unity that is embedded in our DNA, remembrances of spirit divine. That's the light. A fun read? What holds me is the thrill of reading and vicariously experiencing something labeled naughty by cultural conditioning, that's the dark. What wows me is when that story stimulates my own growing understanding of my life path, that's the light.
It's a dance of opposite energies, always, when we are in human form. It is not a failure to not be all spiritual light. Humans are meant to grow in our spiritual capacities to hold within our humanness the powerful forces of the opposites, that is our soul mission. That is the dance, and the only human organ strong enough to contain all this without blowing apart is the heart, enduring, complete, love. The mind blows apart at the paradox: mind thinking spirit male and body feeling matter female. The archetypal symbology of the light and the dark are the essentials of our human quest, embracing spirit and matter to embody the purpose of human incarnation, LoveDance. Every human dances it (or it dances them). LoveDance is the joining and the strengthening of our human apparatus through accepting the dual nature of our human experience. It is an experience of soul, this blending. It is the stuff of magic and the power of manifestation, of making our dreams and visions come true for our own experience and the benefit of all human kind.
Gendered female and male at the most basic, foundational, material level, that's the dark; all the way through to the most essential, subtle energetic, ecstatic level, that's the light. Like a continuum with the opposites at each end; LoveDance is the inclusion of the full range of that continuum; embracing, responsive. When we realize in our capacity to hold it all, the suffering begins to make sense; like childbirth-such joy is also experienced; like holding the edge of orgasm-such intense sensation to live through and not die, keep breathing, keep breathing. So simple. So awesome. LoveDance.
Dark and Light is the story of our human experience, our human world of duality. We have two hands, one to hold each opposite, between our hands they join in the heart, LoveDance. It's about the energies complementing each other. As above, so below; as below, so above.
The story of Mary and Jesus, Mary M. and Yeshua rings true with my secretly held opinions that Jesus was a man just like any other. He was human for the purpose of showing the divine possibilities that each human can realize within themselves because he was no different DNA wise, human bodily need wise, consciousness-wise, human apparatus, body, intellect, than any other person.
You've heard the saying, "Behind every great man is a better woman." Mary Magdalen's inclusion in the formula to wholeness just makes sense, and it's about time. It rings true for me that she would be the necessary element to complete Yeshua's resources to accomplish his mission on earth; Just as Yeshua was the necessary element for Mary to accomplish her soul purpose. Oh, Yes. She was a great woman, divine and human, too. Their example is provocative to consider as a possibility to apply to my life. Split apart to come together, most basic, most high, complete. Woman completes Man. It's human magic. It's sexual magic. It's meant to be this way; it's natural.
It is time now for the feminine to come forward, accept the responsibilities, recognition and thrill of wholeness in partnership to serve individual soul purpose and to be present to all of life's lessons. And Deborah Maragopoulos time has come. By living through the experiences of Mary Magdalen's story, Deborah is an example of a present day woman immersing herself in the timeless lifestream and emerging with necessary elements humankind needs so desperately today. Deborah is a priestess of the Divine Feminine, offering her intuitive insights and images to present time people.
I began reading LoveDance at a woman's retreat during the last weekend September. Each of us chose an oracle card to sleep on, not to reveal to ourselves or anyone until the next morning when we shared our cards and our dreams; how they might be related to each other and applied to our lives. In my case, if I remember a dream it is a big one, which means, pay attention! I did have a dream to share: I was at a party, dancing in a line behind a woman playing a tambourine. The woman behind me informed me that the lead woman was famous and important, "You know," she said, "That's Deborah Kerr!" Later Deborah condensed down somehow. I got down to her level and expressed my deep gratitude to her, "Thank you, thank you, thank you," with tears streaming. I unwrapped the card, and it simply said, "Thank you." Well! Chills on that one as far as it went. My association with her was the movie, "The King and I," where she portrayed the role of Anna, the teacher to the children of the King of Siam (Yul Brenner). Such a LoveDance that was, and the remake was excellent also!
The retreat ended, and we all went to our homes, and I received a voice message from a woman of the retreat circle. She had read in the newspaper that it was Deborah Kerr's birthday. I had dreamed my dream on her Birthday! Wow, cool. The dream seems to have gotten bigger, and more pieces came along. I felt so filled with love. Later in that week, I read the Healing scene and had my own healing experience. It was as if I was so filled with love from the retreat that there was just not any room for the pain of my own woundings, so they got squeezed out by love. More pieces . . . reading LoveDance then took me through a scene where Miriam, Yeshua's mother, is leading the dance with the Tambourine, handing if off to Mary Magdalen in the matriarchal transfer of power and leadership. I recalled my dream of Deborah Kerr's birthday party, dancing behind her uplifted tambourine and my gesture of gratitude, kneeling before her tearfully repeating, "Thank you." Yikes. Then I connected one of the most obvious synchronicities that the name of the author of LoveDance is also Deborah!
Here comes, the last piece, so far! On All Souls' Day, November 2, I was doing research on the web (the interconnected web of life!) for newspaper and radio contacts and came across a news item. Deborah Kerr had passed away in her home in southern England, October 16th (in numerology, 1+6=7, the spiritual number meaning completion-Deborah had completed her life tasks). What amazing connections. Meaningful coincidences are called synchronicities, and the weaving of the elements into meaning for our life is a numinous, personal art. Both Deborahs in my life, human and spirit! Did Deborah the author condense into words the celebration of life in her book, LoveDance that Deborah Kerr's birth and death represents? Who is handing off what to whom in this dance of life? What did Deborah Kerr represent for me, dancing with kings and tambourines? It was noted that Deborah Kerr never had an argument with a director. She was a respected, skilled and talented professional with obvious interpersonal skills. How might I learn from her example, this highlighted detail from her life? The dream and Deborah Maragopoulos's LoveDance, the timeline of realizations, unveilings, often looping back and then forward in time! These experiences have given me a surety of the mystery of life, of all existence, really, strengthening my ability to choose from an inner perspective of love. In our own personal lives, we choose in our own way, often our soul's purpose chooses for us, who we honor, follow, receive, accept, support, hear, touch, meet, blend, dance. The steps continue to be revealed, enticing me to dance into the next love-filled revelation of my soul purpose and life path. This is possible because it is a LoveDance.
Deborah Maragopoulos is incredibly audacious in her presentation of subjects (Jesus having sex) and themes (the emerging recognition of the essential, necessary presence of the Feminine) that have been mainstream hot potatoes. She does it in a way that is informed by her scientific background and intuitive evolution. Deborah's approach can only be interpreted as inspired by her own life purpose and soul direction. Deborah's courage is sourced in her Self, guided by soul purpose. It's just time. The time is ripe.
Our world of experience has pushed to the extremes of all kinds, lowest and highest. But it really isn't any different from any time, within each time's context. We are a race of humans, today not so different in our consciousness than our predecessors thousands of years ago, even from the Neolithic times. Each one of us is a daughter or a son, human. Each one of us has a mother and a father. We each issue forth from the great creative attraction to join in the LoveDance that is evident throughout existence. That we exist at all is ultimately an awesome mystery, that is our unique divinity. We are each a member of the divine family.
Deborah's words transmit images of possibilities that deeply stir potentials within. I experienced it, this is true for me. It could be true for you. It is a mystery to explore.
